So what if the WTO has no role?! ACTA is dealing that several things that are directly related with what WTO does. “I” don’t have a role in ACTA, but I comment on it because it directly affects me. The WTO should most definitely comment. Or are they just another sock-puppet in all this?

In fact I can understand that they declined to comment. Presumably they’ve seen no more of the proposal that what the rest of us have, so what have they to offer that hasn’t already been said? Note that they were asked to provide “expert assessment and analysis of the current provision” of ACTA.
No disrespect intended, you probably can’t provide expert opinion, but neither do you claim to. However, the WTO was asked to do just that. They could provide an opinion, sure, but it would be an opinion based on the last released ACTA text in the context of the WTO treaties. Is that text even valid now? And would they be able to add anything that hasn’t already been said?

It’s sad though that the WORLD TRADE Organization has no more information about a so called TRADE agreement affecting much of the WORLD then some guy reading MG’s blog. This provides just more evidence that the conception and negotiation of ACTA are completely non-standard and wrong, contrary to what the U.S. or other proponents may say.
