Why Watching the Watchers Isn’t Enough: My Talk on Privacy, Snowden & Bill C-51

Last month, I had the honour of speaking at the Pathways to Privacy Symposium, a privacy event sponsored by the Privacy Commissioner of Canada and hosted by the University of Ottawa. The event featured many excellent presentations (the full seven hours can be viewed here). My talk focused on the recent emphasis on the need to improve oversight, a common refrain in reaction to both the Snowden surveillance revelations and Bill C-51, the anti-terrorism bill.  While better oversight is necessary, I argue that it is not sufficient to address the legal shortcomings found in both Canada’s surveillance legislation and Bill C-51. The full talk (which unfortunately has slightly delayed sound) can be viewed here or below.

  1. I watched the video and it’s right on the money, you guys are doing a great job protecting people’s rights, people will listen to you guys, I even think alot of police forces will appreciate getting the word out because I don’t think alot of police like working around alot of the corruption they see in society. It affects them too. Probably when they finally pass bill C-51 they will try to pull my website down and they will probably be knocking on my door again. They will probably arrest me and try to murder me again, I’ve had the crap kicked out of me just for throwing up in a cops car, or so that’s why they said the did it. People get murdered in jail all the time and believe it or not it is usually Canadian Intelligence that run the jails not the cons. I have met alot of undercover agents in jail that have tried to recruit me to keep an eye on other prisoners but I’ve always said no. Homey don’t play that:) Not sure how we will get our warrant information to prove the fraudulent 30-08 warrants were for us but it will come out one day. The courts know so they can’t cover it up forever so whether i’m alive or not won’t make any difference because history will know what harper was up to. They will know about all the people that went missing under his watch, it’s not just about dissenters, it’s about a pure race and we have heard that before.

These abuses have been going on for decades, I know because when I used to work for the RCMP in London Ontario. They used to use my name to get warrants from the Judges that I never even had anything to do with making the arrests. They just needed a name to give to the Judges so they used mine. It almost got me murdered because the gangsters started reading the warrants and they came looking for me. Follow the money. Thanks for reading.
