Pretty much says it all. All of the parties reported on want the reforms to reflect what is best for them.
Dr Geist, while I realize that you are also one of the folks calling for Crown Copyright to dropped, I can't fully agree with that position (as I understand it). I have said here before that I think that it needs to be changed some; after some more examination it appears that my approach is closer to the Creative Commons (non-commercial) license. The only thing I'd like to see, but am not married to this, is that the non-commercial bit applies only to residents of Canada.

Government House Leader Peter Van Loan announced yesterday that the government is imposing time allocation on the second reading debate on Bill C-11. That means debate on the bill should conclude on Friday and the bill will be sent to committee for further hearings and review. While the government's overuse of time allocation is a concern, sending C-11 to committee places the core issues on the table - will it amend the digital lock rules as so many are asking and/or will it cave to copyright lobby pressure and add SOPA-style amendments to the bill?
