Canada's Information Commissioner Robert Marleau has called on the government to follow the U.S. model by making more documents available under Access to Information. Marleau says that there is a clear increase in time extensions and the use of exemptions.

Bloc Private Members Bill Calls for Public Register of Access Requests
Bloc MP Carole Lavalee has introduced a private members bill that would require every government institution to maintain a public register of every record disclosed in response to an Access to Information Act request.
