CBC features an interview with Marc Garneau, new Liberal MP and former head of the Canada Space Agency. Garneau, the Liberal science and technology critic, acknowledges that "there were a surprising number of people who contacted me who had questions and reservations about the current bill [C-61]."

Industry Minister Jim Prentice today accepted the recommendations for specific research priorities as part of Canada's Science & Technology Strategy. Identified sub-priorities include new media, wireless and broadband networks, as well as telecom equipment.
The Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology has commenced the hearings on Canada's science and technology policy. There are a handful of submissions online including CIPPIC, Tracey Lauriault, Russell McOrmand, the BCLA, and the Canadian Association of Broadcasters. My submission is posted below:
