The Senate this week sent Canada’s proposed do-not-call legislation to committee for hearings. Senator Tkachuk noted that the bill has exceptions for the calls that irritate the most and that the House of Commons committee did not broadly consult. While there is some sense that the Senator may be looking for further exceptions, he has at least opened the door to some dialogue before the Senate Committee on the appropriateness of the exceptions and on the need to hear from all stakeholders.
