When your purchase is a RENTAL, this is what you get
Kindle books are not really purchases, they are rentals. In fact, anything with DRM in it is a RENTAL. And because it is a rental, the company can screw its customers any way it wants. Try that with a paper book.
If a Kindle with its text-to-speech capability disabled falls in a forest, does it make sound?
