New Zealand Sites Go Dark To Protest Copyright Bill

New Zealand's copyright reform package, which includes a "graduated response" provision that would force ISPs to terminate subscribers on allegations of infringement, is generating a huge protest with many people turning their websites, profiles, or other onlne persona dark.  The protest started on the 16th and runs until February 23rd.  Details here, here, and here.

    and then we went and give control of who is allowed to access the internet over to “rights holders”, whoever they are.
