B.C.’s information and privacy commissioner has delayed the release of his advisory report on how the U.S. Patriot Act could affect Canadians because of the number of responses received during his inquiry. David Loukidelis now says his report won’t be ready until mid-September.

Nigeria Promises New Copyright Law
The Nigerian Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Culture and Tourism has promised new copyright legislation for the country. The focus of the legislation will apparently be on tougher anti-piracy provisions.
Mauritius First African Country to Open Up VoIP
A new report finds that Mauritius has become the first African country to open its legal framework to VoIP. The report expects many other countries to follow suit with some African countries finding that at least 90 percent of their international calls are being placed in the "grey market."
