Ottawa Releases Strategy for Privacy and the Patriot Act
The Canadian government has released a new document establishing a strategy for concerns about cross-border data flows, the USA Patriot Act, and personal privacy. I’ll have more to say about the document soon.
Supreme Court Rehearing for Robertson Copyright Case
The Supreme Court of Canada today announced that it will rehear the Robertson v. Thompson Corp. copyright arguments by reviewing the transcripts and videotape. The case was heard by the court in December 2005, before Justice Rothstein joined the court.
Canadian Software Innovation Alliance Launches
The Canadian Software Innovation Alliance, which brings together open source software developers and companies, has launched. The CSIA will provide an important new voice to the copyright policy discussion.
