Students at the University of Ottawa's Canadian Internet Policy and Public Interest Clinic have filed a privacy complaint against Facebook. The complaint alleges 22 violations of Canada's national privacy law.

Does anyone else have issues viewing CBC.ca’s website with Opera 9.27? I get a lot of script errors.
I turned off JavaScript for the cbc.ca domain and that fixes the error, but of course I can’t use any of the JavaScript features on the page.

Is anyone worth listening to going to weigh-in on the Facebook complaint? I am very sceptical about the complaint itself, while still refuse to ever use Facebook. When are we going to hear from the Michael Geists?
facebook’s arrogance
Facebook recently have canceled my account saying I have violated the site’s terms of use. The only group I have ever joined was Fair Copyright for Canada. I never wrote on the wall, I never sent a message. I was just giving my support to the group in a “read only” fashion.
Does anyone have any idea why I was “kicked” off?
“Your account has been disabled because you have violated Facebook’s Terms of Use. Misusing the site’s features to spam others is not permitted. You will no longer be able to use Facebook. This decision is final.”
I wrote them asking for evidences but they never wrote me back.

I have really fast internet conection and Facebook does not like it and also recently have canceled my account saying I have violated the site\’s terms of use.
In the letter bellow from Facebook that I have been received I can not find any evidences.
This is what I got from Facebook employees:
Facebook has limits in place to prevent behavior that other users may find annoying or abusive. These limits restrict the rate at which you can use certain features on the site. Unfortunately, we cannot provide you with the specific rates that have been deemed abusive.
Your account has been disabled because you exceeded Facebook\’s limits on multiple occasions when sending friend requests and searching, despite having been warned to slow down.
After further review of your account, we have determined that you violated our Terms of Use by misusing our site features to harass other users. We will not be able to reactivate your account for any reason. This decision is final.

I am making a complaint cause my facebook got deactivated without warning and I feel I didn’t do any thing wrong Im really confused and I dont want to lose my pictures of my family its all I have of them. Facebook means alot to me it’s one of my favourite sites and I am lost without it. Obscene insults, harassments, and abuse on facebook
I recently joined a group on facebook to research a book I am writing.
One of the members of the group insulted, harassed, and abused me. Here is one of his mild “comments” to me: “eat shit and die asshole what a pathetic excuse for a man you are,..lol,.. You must be sooooo embarrassed to be you,..”
I tried for one hour to delete all my posts but it is technically impossible. So I contacted abuse@facebook DOZENS of times to have them delete all my posts and my account. I will never enter the facebook website again.
After one week, I received an automated response with unworkable instructions on how to delete my own posts!
I replied that I will never enter the facebook site again and they must delete everything.
My reputation and show biz image have been destroyed by facebook. The experience made me extremely upset for a week, and now I am physically ill. I used facebook to help write my book, but now I am too sick to work on my book.
Facebook has a horrible bad reputation already, so there is noting I can do but suffer.

No Real Way To Report Abuse
Facebook has no REAL way to report abuse. They throw you a few bones by putting “report” links here, and there, but I highly doubt they actually review any of that.
What it comes down to is Facebook really doesn’t care if you are in danger, or bring hurt in anyway by what is going on on their social networking site. As long as you’re not involving the law, and trying to incriminate them they have no reason to care.
