The Canadian Media Guild has published the results of a survey that show 84% of respondents opposed to a plan that will create a two-tier system for over-the-air television signals (some will have it, others won't). The survey was conducted in Kamloops, which stands to lose its OTA signal in 2011.

6 channels per transmitter
An interesting note from the article: Kamloops currently has 3 channels (3 transmitters). With digital TV, a single transmitter can transmit 6 channels, so they could double the number of Free TV channels in a town like that, while cutting the costs to 1/3.
Of course, they want to drop it all together. I can’t help but suspect Bell/Rogers’ checkbook has something to do with it.
