Do-Not-Call Registry Early Glitches

The National Post reports on the glitches (or overwhelming demand) on day one of Canada's do-not-call registry. iOptOut.ca experienced a huge traffic spike as well, sending out roughly one million opt-out requests over the past two days.

  1. phone calls
it is the best idea..I am getting 50-60 phone calles from Telemarketting..

  2. overwhelmed
Seems iOptOut.ca is throwing errors and not accepting logins these days.

  3. DNC registry refuses to accept my area code. The process couldn’t be simpler but I struck out and seem to have no avenues to explain what the problem is.

  4. I get the same problem as Elizabeth described. Won’t except my area code and there is nothing wrong with it. No way to contact them. Stupid asses!

  5. I don’t think that the national ‘do not call’ registry is working very well. Why did I recieve unsolocited phone calls from a carpet cleaning company and a moving company selling their services today even though I have registered my phone number on the registry? It doesn’t make any sense to me at all. I was told by the carpet cleaning company that they are still free to call anyone they wish to, but that it is up to me to call them to have my number removed from their calling list. That doesn’t make any sense at all. Why did I bother registering my number with the national registry in the first place if I am still recieving these highly annoying calls?
