The government’s omnibus crime bill is on the order paper and will apparently be tabled on Tuesday. The bill will be closely watched to see if it includes the controversial lawful access provisions.

OpenMedia Launches Lawful Access Spots
As both the NDP and Green Party speak out against the government’s lawful access plans, Open Media has launched three terrific public service announcement-style videos to raise awareness of the issue. The videos can all be accessed here.
Pushing the Limits of State Surveillance
The Globe’s Lawrence Martin on the government’s lawful access plans with former Minister Stockwell Day noting he still supports requiring warrants before mandating disclosure of personal information.
Coalition Protests Government Lawful Access Plans
A coalition of advocacy groups and professors (myself included) have written a public letter expressing concern over the government’s plans to reintroduce lawful access legislation. The letter generated coverage from the CBC here and here.
NDP Warns Against Lawful Access
NDP MP Charlie Angus has issued a warning about the government’s lawful access plans, calling for oversight and limits.
